InSinkErator’s new LEDefense offerings are being launched in collaboration with Vyv, a health tech company and recognized market leader in antimicrobial technology since 2013.
Harnessing Vyv’s LED technology, an isolated portion of the visible light spectrum (400-420nm) is utilized to create a pleasant, purplish-blue light that provides 24/7 protection to help keep garbage disposals clean and prevent buildup on the sink’s baffle by killing common germs including odor-causing bacteria while also inhibiting mold growth*.
As part of the 2026 KBIS show, InSinkErator is featuring two configurations / models of the new garbage disposals and a state-of-the-art sink flange, both utilizing the new LEDefense technology. These products provide homeowners with 24/7 always on LED light that kills 99% of odor-causing bacteria*.

Compatible with all InSinkErator® continuous feed disposals, the LEDefense Sink Flange helps to prevent buildup on the bottom of the baffle thanks to the usage of Vyv’s UV-Free LED light. Fitting all standard sinks ¾” thick or less, the Sink Flange is powered around the clock thanks to a USB-C power adapter.
