The Vertex Power Direct Vent (PDV) model represents a new era in residential water heating, delivering hot water at a constant flow of over 4 gallons per minute. The unit boasts up to 96% thermal efficiency, helping homeowners heat more water while using less energy. With A. O. Smith’s exclusive AiQTM Adaptive Gas Technology, the unit maximizes combustion efficiency and system reliability by identifying gas supply qualities and automatically adjusting parameters for optimal combustion control. AiQ Technology can determine the gas type supplied to the water heater and adapt accordingly, resulting in a simpler inventory for distributors.

The Vertex high efficiency family combines an advanced internal heat exchanger with input up to 100,000 BTUs, inspired by A. O. Smith’s proven Cyclone® commercial water heater design.
