A 2025 Gallup poll found that only 42% of respondents had a “great deal” or “quite a lot” of confidence in higher education, compared to 57% of people in 2015. Related to this, albeit indirectly or directly, there are many stories across the country where workforce development successes are taking place. Take Miller-Motte College (MMC) in Raleigh, for example, which is adding to its skilled trades offerings with the launch of new programs including Plumbing.
