Kohler Expands Awaken Collection and Unveils New Showering Technology

The Awaken collection grows to include a single-function showerhead, additional coordinating design components and a handshower with a spray-intensifying boost button

Popular with the trade for its quality and affordability and a huge hit with the consumers for its sleek design and premium performance, the KOHLER Awaken collection expands its offering with water-conserving single-function showerheads and a handshower complete with Eco-Assist technology, which provides an intensified spray.

“Water is a precious resource—the new Awaken handshower makes it even easier for homeowners to conserve while offering the convenience of a richer spray for tasks like hair rinsing,” says Kohler performance showering product manager Leslie Bronson. Pressing and holding a button to activate the Eco-Assist technology increases water flow from 1.5 gallons per minute to 2.0 gallons per minute. The new single-function Awaken showerhead touts a spray engine engineered for maximum performance at a water-conserving 1.5 and 1.75 gallons per minute, still delivering full, rich rinsing coverage, and, like the handshower, features an easy-to-clean sprayface.

The Awaken collection is offered in two series to complement transitional and contemporary aesthetics, and comes in two finishes: Polished Chrome and Vibrant Brushed Nickel. Series B is organic in design, taking inspiration from forms found in nature, while Series G takes design cues from classic modern design with simple, architectural form.

“We’re absolutely thrilled the Eco-Assist technology is making its debut in the Awaken collection,” Bronson says. “We’re offering the very latest in water-saving technology at an affordable price.” That’s appealing to plumbers, who can carry stock and offer a quick up-sell, as well as the budget-conscious homeowner who pays close attention to how and where home improvement dollars are spent.

To complete the sleek look of the Awaken collection coordinating design components are available: slide bars, mounting brackets, wall supplies and smooth handshower hoses. A novelty for Kohler is the 36-inch slide bar with integrated water supply. This innovative combination of products eliminates the need for a separate wall supply since the water connection is at the base of the slide bar. All the components are metal construction, providing solid durability at a great price.

Kohler Whitehaven Kitchen Sink Now Offers New Decorative Design

New look adds versatility to classic farmhouse style and functionality

Based on the popularity of the Whitehaven apron-front kitchen sink, Kohler has expanded the line to offer a new decorative design option. The new Whitehaven Hayridge kitchen sink features a textured design on the apron. Farmhouse-style sinks like the Kohler Whitehaven have long been recognized for their durability, practicality, and signature appearance.

Inspired by nature, the textured horizontal lines on the nine-inch apron mimic the patterns of agricultural landscapes and desert dunes. The Whitehaven Hayridge 36-inch kitchen sink with tall apron is available with either a single basin or a double basin with Kohler Smart Divide saddle.

Kohler Introduces New Bellwether Cast Iron Shower Receptor

KOHLER, Wis. – Feb. 4, 2014 – In response to the market’s move away from bathtubs and toward showers in new and remodel bathrooms, Kohler introduces the new Bellwether shower receptor. Made from the premier material on the market, durable, long-lasting Kohler Cast Iron, these receptors were designed to weather many years of use and cleaning.

“Across the board we see a growing trend for showers instead of bathtubs in both hospitality and residential bathrooms,” says Jennifer Rindt, Kohler Co. showering product manager. “The Bellwether shower base offers the right size options for remodels as well as new builds, with the added benefit of the durability and luxury aesthetic of cast iron.”

The solid, clean-lined enameled cast iron base offers unmatched durability and will not crack, chip, flex or burn. The one-piece base allows for easier cleaning and maintenance than a tiled base and eliminates the risk of cracking and potential leakage that comes with tile. The ease of installation and maintenance keeps overall costs down, and the receptors are guaranteed with Kohler’s limited lifetime warranty.
