The Gen-Ear LE® from General Pipe Cleaners provides a simple, more economical water leak locator with stronger sound amplification than competitive systems offer.

Gen-Ear LE can pinpoint water leaks in residential and commercial water lines – including problems in walls and under concrete slabs, swimming pools, and hot tubs.

General’s compact amplifier fits easily in the palm of your hand – providing noise-free amplification with built-in, preset audio filters to eliminate settings guesswork.

High performance headphones with noise cancellation also block interference from ambient noise. And when released, an amplifier safety button mutes sudden loud noises.

Gen-Ear LE’s advanced acoustic ground sensor accurately detects the gurgling or hammering of water escaping from cracked pipes under concrete, asphalt, or tile. Probe rods pinpoint problems beneath soft surfaces like grass or carpet. And the magnetic attachment locates above ground pipe or hydrant leaks.

For especially hard-to-find leaks, the Sound Amplification Module adds air to the line, increasing water pressure and amplifying leak sounds to aid precise problem location.

Two AA batteries power Gen-Ear LE for 20 or more hours. To extend battery life, the system automatically shuts down when headphones are removed. And the power light blinks to indicate low batteries.

Designed to Remove Concrete, Heavy Debris, and CIPP Lining without Damaging Host Pipe

The Vortex Companies, a leading provider of advanced trenchless water and sewer technologies and infrastructure renewal services, introduced its new Vortex® AccuPower™ High-Pressure Water Blaster. The high-pressure water jet technology is capable of removing hardened concrete, heavy debris and cured-in-place pipe (CIPP) lining without damaging host pipes.

The new Vortex AccuPower High-Pressure Water Blaster is built upon decades of Schwalm robotics expertise. The AccuPower system can be quickly configured on a Schwalm robot within 10 minutes, eliminating the need for existing Schwalm robot owners to invest in a new robot. Engineered for pipes eight to 40 inches in diameter, it allows operators to cut through the harshest aging infrastructure debris, including concrete and failed CIPP liners. With powerful 40,000 psi output and precisely calibrated jets, it avoids compromising host pipes or original infrastructure.

The AccuPower High-Pressure Water Blaster offers more than 40 jet and nozzle options for maximum versatility to customize the water jet for any obstruction and environment, such as a 12” lance that prevents camera clouding for greater visibility. Additionally, AccuPower jets are manufactured with diamond material to protect against wear and eliminate the need for replacement jets.

“The AccuPower High-Pressure Water Blaster offers the broadest range of motion available with 180° camera rotation, 210° arm rotation and 360° swivel rotation,” said Nick Patrick, General Manager, Vortex Technologies Group. “We’ve incorporated a 15° fanjet design that provides five times more coverage than conventional spinner water jets to cut away large areas of debris quickly and safely, and with greater accuracy. Operators now have maximum control over the water blasting range, completely eliminating collateral damage during the cutting operation.”

“The AccuPower High-Pressure Water Blaster’s purpose-built arm coupled with the broadest range of nozzle and jet combinations available adds a completely new performance dimension to Schwalm robotics,” added Mike Vellano, CEO of The Vortex Companies. “The AccuPower elevates high-pressure water jet technology, providing unmatched safety, power, precision, and operator usability.”

U.S. Boiler Company has significantly expanded its line of condensing, gas-adaptive boilers with a larger combi size and several heat-only models.

Introduced last spring, the high efficiency Alta Combi boiler (136 MBH DHW / 120 heating) grew rapidly in popularity, and the trade anticipated a wider size range and heat-only options. The stainless steel Alta Combi boiler is now available in 200 MBH DHW input (5.2 GPM / 150 MBH heating input). In addition, Alta heat-only models are available in 120, 150 and 180 MBH.

At 95% AFUE, Alta boilers feature next-generation gas adaptive technology that provides the shortest installation time and lowest operating costs. This technology provides true “no touch” combustion setup. There are no manual throttle or offset adjustments. Engineered for five-minute start-up, the boiler’s control system provides continuous, automatic self-calibration of burner combustion by adapting to component wear, variations in fuel, environment, and vent air pressure to provide safe, efficient, and clean combustion at all times.

Converting any of the Alta models from natural gas to LP is simple. No additional parts or conversion kits are needed. Conversion is accomplished in two-steps; moving one switch and making a display entry.

The Alta also includes sensor-less reset technology, which performs the functions of a conventional outdoor reset without the need to install an outdoor sensor.

Domestic hot water response time is virtually instantaneous. DHW temperatures are maintained under all demand conditions, and the unit’s DHW recirculation system can be set to either economy or comfort mode.

Each Alta comes with value-added components and features, including lift-away front and side panels for three-sided access, boiler flow safety switch (UL353) and display indicator, ProPress compatibility, a five-year parts warranty, and a 12-year limited warranty on the heat exchanger. An Alta FastPipe primary/secondary piping assembly is also included on combi models (optional on heating models).

The 55-gallon Everlast Elevate electric storage water heater was developed as an innovative solution to federal regulations imposed on light duty electric tank-type water heaters with storage capacities larger than 55 gallons. Elevate water heaters offers the highest heat output and greatest recovery rates among all water heaters in the 55-gallon size, industry-wide. They outperform a broad range of smaller, and larger water heaters, including those up to 100 gallons in size.

HTP Elevate water heaters require a 30-amp, 240-volt circuit, a power requirement that accelerates heat production using two, 5,500 watt titanium heating elements.  Elevate was engineered to deliver maximum performance and minimize standby loss by reducing turbulence within the tank and stimulating heat stratification.

Its 316 L stainless-steel construction paired with a high-grade anode rod allow the water heaters to store more thermal energy without risk of premature failure due to corrosion.

An adjustable thermostat and ASSE 1017 mixing valve allow for high storage temperatures, while also assuring safe water delivery temperatures to all plumbing fixtures. Elevate water heaters includes a mechanical reset high limit cutout for overheat protection. These standard components make it possible to increase water storage temperatures, up to 170°F – assuring fast recovery, and maximum protection against Legionella and many other pathogens.

HTP Elevate water heaters were developed with installers, building owners, and homeowners in mind. It was designed to fit in the footprint of traditional 80 and 100-gallon electric storage water heaters to provide a quick, easy solution for new and replacement installations. Elevate water heaters also carry the industry’s strongest lifetime warranty, covering the tank and up to six years on parts with online registration.
