Zoeller Pump Company’s 912 Sewage and Grinder Package Systems have a new design with the Contractor in mind. For years we’ve been hearing from customers on these systems, ‘We love your pumps, but your package system could use some improvement’. Well, we took that feedback, and Sales, Marketing, & Engineering teamed together to revamp these systems to not only deliver on the Contractor’s needs, but to go above and beyond in the production of this new unit.
We started with the cover. Zoeller’s new PSF cover has a removable access port for quick and easy inspection of the system’s internal components. It has two threaded 2” discharges that can either both be used for discharge in a Duplex configuration, or that can be used for discharge and vent in a Simplex configuration.
In a Duplex configuration we also leave additional space on the cover for a vent to be drilled. The new design also has a stainless-steel tag affixed to the cover that relays important pump/system and electrical information as well as leaves a space for the Contractor to leave their information for the system owner, should they so please.
Pump Features
- Cast iron construction (model 264/model 266)
- Thermoplastic construction (model 211)
- Automatic or piggyback configuration available
- Full 2” (50 mm) spherical solids capacity
- Thermal overload protection
- Non-clogging vortex impeller
- 3 year limited warranty on Model 264/266
Inside the basin we added a spring-loaded PVC float tree that snaps in and out of place with the help of molded grips to make inspection and maintenance a breeze. We also added molded torque stops to hold the pump in place and increase stability. On the outside we included a 360-degree molded handle for easy transportation and installation of the system that also serves as an anti-flotation device helping to secure the system in place and keep it there once installed. Finally, the system now ships with a clear construction cover to protect the unit from any masonry work or debris.

Delivering full power at max distance, the M18™ FUEL™ High Speed Chain Snake can descale up to 75-feet out for the easiest, most controlled wall-to-wall clean. The chain snake’s user driven design features a variable speed dial and durable electronic foot pedal for more control in the line, along with a mechanical clutch to protect the cable in the application. The partially enclosed drum allows for mess containment and easy access for cable cleaning and field repair. The telescoping handle paired with the durable wheel base gives users the portability needed for easy transportation on and off the jobsite. With the power to complete multiple jobs on one charge, the high speed chain snake can clear up to 150-feet of scale build-up when paired with the included M18™ REDLITHIUM™ HIGH OUTPUT™ HD 12.0 battery packs.
In addition to the high speed chain snake, Milwaukee is launching 1-½”, 2”, 3”, and 4” Standard Chain Knockers, as well as 1-½”, 2”, 3”, and 4” Carbide Chain Knockers, both for 5/16” Chain Snake Cable. The standard chain knockers are optimized to clear grease and soft blockages and are best used in PVC, clay, or fragile pipes. The carbide chain knockers can tackle scale build-up, hard deposits, grease, and tough blockages and are best used in cast iron and other hard-walled pipes. All the new chain knockers have a rust-guard coating and feature stainless steel set screws for corrosion resistance.

The popularity of PEX in residential and commercial construction has produced an influx of engineered polymer (EP) F1960 expansion fittings claiming to be “just the same as Uponor ProPEX®”. However, these lower-quality F1960 fittings are putting systems and contractors at significant risk for leaks or poor performance.
Uponor ProPEX fittings are certified by a third-party agency, NSF International, to prove the product is designed and manufactured to the ASTM F1960 standard. In addition, ProPEX fittings also include additional internal quality testing that extends beyond ASTM F1960 standard requirements to provide a higher-quality product.
Some suppliers claim their fittings are compliant to F1960, which means, in their opinion, they meet the standard. However, there is no third-party agency to confirm that compliance. This confusion between certification and compliance is resulting in PEX piping installations with lower-quality connections that are putting systems at risk for failure and jeopardizing installers’ reputations.
Uponor has performed a random sampling of these lower-quality F1960 EP fittings and found them to have a reduced internal diameter — up to 50% in some instances. Additionally, Uponor has received claims for failed connections that, after investigation, were found to be different suppliers’ low-quality F1960 fittings.
Many generic F1960 expansion fittings have a thinner sealing barb and weaker tube stops compared to ProPEX fittings. Those differences can result in leaks that cost time and money to repair — and also damage a contractor’s reputation.
It is important to be vigilant when ordering and purchasing F1960 fittings. Ensure you are getting the superior quality of ProPEX that comes with a 25-year transferable limited warranty when used as a system with Uponor PEX-a pipe and ProPEX rings.
