IMPROVEMENTS TO GRAVITY TOILETS RAISE INDUSTRY BAR: Coordinating bowls and tanks improves inventory, efficiency and service

Gerber Plumbing Fixtures continues to nurture its roots in providing the most reliable plumbing products and best business solutions to plumbing professionals, builders and others in the industry.  As yet another example of that, Gerber has improved the function and flexibility of its most popular toilets:  Avalanche, Viper and Maxwell.

Focusing on function, Gerber has made improvements to these three product lines, which have resulted in increased MaP scores (rating flushing performance), even better bowl cleaning and industry-leading reliability that professionals have come to expect from the brand.

All high-efficiency toilets within these collections are WaterSense®approved, feature 3” flush valve technology and a fully glazed trapway ensuring a clean bowl every time.  All use positive shut-off pilot style fill valves which minimize the annoying on and off cycling during the tank refill.  The Avalanche and Viper collections feature the industry’s most reliable Fluidmaster 400A fill valve.

As for flexibility, Gerber has simplified its product mix to allow the bowls within each product family (Avalanche, Viper and Maxwell) to be used at two different flush volumes (both 1.6 gpf and 1.28 gpf).  The bowls are universal and the tanks determine the flush volume. Plumbing professionals, wholesalers and others will benefit greatly from this new configuration, making inventory simpler and more flexible (only need to carry one bowl option for each family).  The new system also makes it easier for customers to transition to high-efficiency toilets, which are becoming the norm in many applications.

“This product mix change is unique in the category because Gerber is the only manufacturer doing it across our entire product line of gravity toilets,” says Kevin McJoynt, Gerber’s Vice President of Marketing.  “There will be no additional cost to the customer and our trade customers will benefit from a much more flexible and efficient inventory.”

Customers can still select their preference of rough-in, bowl configuration (round front, elongated or ErgoHeight) and consumption rate (1.28 vs 1.6 gpf
