InSinkErator®, a business unit of St. Louis-based Emerson Electric Co. (NYSE: EMR), has important information for property managers and developers. Residents love disposers for the convenience, but industry professionals have strong incentives to appreciate them as well, including potential cost savings from solid waste disposal fees, fewer nuisance rodents and pests attracted by curbside and dumpster collection—plus an improved environmental impact by possibly reducing landfill additions.

Recognizing all the benefits of in-sink disposers, earlier this year the city of Philadelphia started requiring in-sink disposers in all new residential construction.

In-sink disposers also help builders reach the National Green Building Standard, the ICC/ANSI- approved residential green building rating system. Each unit installed contributes one point towards the National Green Building Standard.

“There are still a lot of myths surrounding use of food waste disposers”, said Michael Keleman, Manager of Environmental Engineering at InSinkErator. “Today’s models grind food waste better and more quietly than ever before. This significantly reduces clogged pipes and jammed units while allowing modern municipal waste treatment systems to capitalize on the environmental advantages of the waste at collection facilities.”

Most municipal sewer districts already employ reclamation systems to convert biodegradable materials from their sanitary systems into compost and natural gas. That creates local and regional promotional and goodwill opportunities for facility-wide applications, particularly in larger developments.

InSinkErator works with developers, property management groups and communities across the United States to evaluate the potential for cost savings and environmental credits in their properties. For more information, visit http://www.insinkerator.com/savings. Or, contact:

Full bath suite blends geometric shapes for contemporary sophistication

Answering consumer desires for modern, urban bath design, the new Zura™ bath collection from Delta Faucet is constructed to deliver a precise marriage of rounded, rectangular and triangular elements. The geometric shapes effortlessly blend together, creating a collection that is every bit as contemporary and sophisticated as it is innovative.

The Delta® Zura bath collection features deck mount lavatory faucets in a split Matte Black and Chrome finish, adding to an extensive line of finish options offered by Delta Faucet. The collection also features a luxurious pendant raincan showerhead with H2Okinetic® Technology. For added convenience, single–handle and vessel faucets are equipped with optional Touch2O.xt® Technology. The entire faucet serves as a sensor with this technology, allowing water flow to be turned on and off with a simple touch to the faucet’s spout, hub or handle. Alternatively, the faucet can be operated in hands-free mode that senses your presence within 4” and automatically shuts off within seconds once hands are removed.

“When creating this collection, we wanted to deliver a full suite that was unique in both design and functionality,” said Clinton Cardinal, Delta product manager. “As a result, the Zura collection offers a transformative style that gives consumers a chic metropolitan look with transformative technologies.”

In addition to Touch2O.xt Technology, the Zura collection’s features include:

  • DIAMOND™ Seal Technology, which combines a durable DIAMOND Valve with InnoFlex® PEX waterways. The valve requires no lubrication, eliminates wear on seals, and ensures “like new” operation for the life of the faucet, lasting up to 10 times the industry standard.1 The InnoFlex waterways eliminate potential leak points and are less hassle to install.
  • MultiChoice® Universal Valve installation, which ensures future shower function upgrades or style changes can easily be made without altering plumbing behind the wall.

  • H2Okinetic Technology, which creates a shower experience like no other. Each showerhead and handshower contains an internal system that sculpts the water into a unique wave pattern, creating a consumer-proven feeling of more water, all without using more water. All showerheads in the Zura bath collection feature H2Okinetic technology.
  • WaterSense® 2 Delta Faucet Company takes its role as a WaterSense® partner seriously and is committed to working with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to encourage efficient use of water resources and actively protect the future of our nation’s water supply. All lavatory faucets in this collection meet WaterSense requirements, flowing at a rate that is less than the industry standard of 2.2 gallons per minute (gpm).3

The Zura bath collection offers a variety of faucet configurations, including:

  • Single-handle and vessel faucets with optional Touch2O.xt Technology
  • Two-handle widespread faucets
  • Single- and two-handle wall mount faucets

The bath suite includes tub and shower faucets, showerheads, handshowers, body sprays, a unique floor-mount tub filler, a bidet and coordinating accessories. Menomonee Falls, WI. (August 3, 2016) – Bradley Corp., designer and manufacturer of industrial safety and commercial washroom products, introduces its new Customized Emergency Signaling Systems, which help to quickly alert and mobilize emergency response teams to affected personnel using emergency safety showers and eye and eye/face wash fixtures, while discouraging vandalism that impairs the performance of emergency fixtures.

Designed for use with both new emergency safety fixtures and retrofits, the Emergency Signaling Systems allow users to customize their alarm packages with distinctive light and sound features that immediately and clearly alert safety personnel when an emergency occurs to improve response time. These customized systems may be located in indoor, outdoor or remote worksite locations.

Equipped with loud 108-decibel sound alarm tones to cut through ambient noise, the Signaling Systems offer a selection of several distinct tones. The custom packages also include highly visible colored flashing lights with choices of light colors for signal, area and beacon lights. An auto reset/silence switch will silence the alarm but keep the signal light flashing while an emergency is being addressed. The auto reset ensures the system will always be ready after testing the fixture.

A central control board connects all input and output devices and also allows for a simple hook up to a building’s remote monitoring system and Building Management Systems. This allows management to contact first responders, ensure immediate notification of proper safety and facility personnel, and provide for remote monitoring of safety equipment.

The custom alarm packages also include signaling devices that may be easily recessed into a wall, mounted directly to a wall surface or mounted directly onto the safety fixture. Powered by a convenient and easy to use universal power supply that accepts AC 90-264 volt input, the systems can be built for general area, Class 1 Division 1 or Class 1 Division 2 hazardous locations, and can be placed indoors or outdoors with waterproof and corrosion-resistant NEMA 4X rated products.

Bradley’s Emergency Signaling Systems are ideal for facilities with few employees, school science rooms, laboratories, warehouses, manufacturing facilities and more.

“When an employee is accidentally exposed to hazardous chemicals, every second counts for accessing emergency fixtures and receiving prompt emergency medical attention,” said Ryan Pfund, Senior Product Manager, Emergency Fixtures, Bradley Corp.

“The average Emergency Medical Services response time in the U.S. is 9.4 minutes, according to the National EMSC Data Analysis Resource Center (NEDARC). Bradley’s new signaling technology coupled with each emergency fixture helps to close the gap of time it takes to alert and mobilize the facility personnel and medical experts to administer proper medical care, improve the outcome of the emergency, and augment the overall safety preparedness of facilities.”

For 95 years, Bradley Corporation has designed and manufactured commercial washroom and emergency safety products, and today is the industry’s leading source for commercial plumbing fixtures, washroom accessories, restroom partitions, solid plastic lockers, and emergency safety fixtures and industrial grade electric tankless heaters. Headquartered in Menomonee Falls, Wis., Bradley serves the commercial, industrial, health care, retail, and education markets worldwide.
