A. O. Smith launches the Simplicity Series of concentric venting, non-condensing tankless water heaters — designed to make installations simple and flexible through a new gas convertible combustion system.

Alongside the energy-efficient technology built into every A. O. Smith tankless product, this newline will please installers and distributors alike, according to David Chisolm, vice president of marketing for A. O. Smith.

“These units were built using a concentric vent design, which allows for simpler and more flexible installations with commercially available venting,” said Chisolm.

The Simplicity Series models come in three sizes and are designed to easily convert from naturalgas to propane – with all necessary components already in the box. This new line will assist distributors in managing their inventories by reducing the number of product variations needed,which ensures product availability as well.

“By incorporating a gas convertible combustion system into the design, we’ve eliminated theneed for our distributors to stock all the typical designs to meet field demand, effectively cuttingtheir product variations in half,” said Chisolm.

Available in 140K, 190K and 199K BTU versions and ULN-certified, the Simplicity Seriesscores a 0.82 EF rating. These new models also come equipped with integrated controls that make temperature adjustment and diagnostic review easier.

Rinnai America, the number-one selling brand of tankless water heaters in the United States and Canada, is showcasing its latest innovations in water heating and home heating at this year’s Air-Conditioning, Heating, Refrigerating Exposition (Booth #1642), as well as introducing wireless connectivity for its new and existing tankless water heaters dating back as far as ten years – the industry’s first wireless connectivity for gas tankless water heaters.

In addition its exhibiting products, Rinnai America Corporation’s General Manager Frank Windsor will give a speech titled “The Demand Duo: Built for Commercial” at the Exhibitor New Product and Technology Presentations to educate attendees about the product’s solution as a direct replacement of most traditional commercial standard and high efficiency tanks.

C199 Commercial Condensing Tankless Water Heater

The C199 model, a Commercial Energy Star-certified condensing tankless water heater, has a heat exchanger designed specifically for the demands of business. These 199,000 BTU models operate more efficiently than tank-style water heaters, saving on operation and life cycle costs.

The CB Series of Combination (Combi) Boilers from Noritz is a year-round, whole-home solution that utilizes high-efficiency condensing technology to deliver hot water to both plumbing and hydronic heating applications, including those in colder climates.

The CB Combi performs at a 95% AFUE (Annual Fuel Utilization Efficiency); that is, 95% of the Btuh input is converted into useable heat, making it an extremely energy-efficient appliance. This fuel-saving performance meets “Energy Star Most Efficient” standards, which represent the EPA’s highest efficiency rating and allow homeowners to qualify for various state energy rebates.Delivering up to 9.2 gallons per minute of domestic hot water, the CB Combi provides nearly twice as much flow as competitor models. A flow control valve, not offered by competitors, ensures a consistent temperature for domestic hot water demand, regardless of incoming water temperature. • Different temperature settings for the domestic hot water heating and space heating applications. For domestic hot water, temperatures range from 90 to 140 degrees Fahrenheit. On the space heating side, the range is 100 to 180 degrees Fahrenheit.
• A built-in external pump control that allows for an external secondary or booster pump to be wired directly to the Combi to deliver significantly more BTU’s on the primary loop without sacrificing efficiency.
• Three Austenite stainless steel heat exchangers that deliver superior performance and a longer life and scald prevention technology that ensures domestic hot water safety.
• Condensing technology with low enough exhaust temperatures to allow venting with PVC, CPVC or PP. The use of plastic venting materials – rather than the stainless steel venting required by non-condensing water heaters – substantially lowers costs by reducing installation time as well as the cost of the materials themselves.
