Chicago Faucets, the leading manufacturer of commercial faucets, introduces its new 404 and 405 Series faucets with improved underbodies and new modern-look spouts that meet the rigorous demands of today’s commercial restrooms.
The 404 and 405 Series underbody has been improved to accommodate a newly designed spout connection for easy and fast one-person installation. These spouts also offer attention to detail: a new knob rest covers the unsightly pop-up rod hole, and the spout shanks are keyed to prevent rotation.
All current trim accessories such as outlets integrate seamlessly with the new designs, continuing the Chicago Faucets tradition of interchangeability and backward compatibility.
“Our new 404 and 405 Series faucets display fresh, modern aesthetics with two new cast spout choices offering design flexibility for commercial restrooms,” says Patrick Tanzillo, Chicago Faucets product manager. “The new spouts reinvigorate one of our most popular faucet series and demonstrate our commitment to offer designers and architects faucets they will be proud to include in their restroom designs.

Remember how cold it was last winter? Be ready this winter with General Pipe Cleaners’ Hot-Shot 320® and Hot-Shot 400® pipe thawing machines. They thaw pipes in minutes – without tearing up floors, breaking through walls, or digging around pipes in frozen ground.
The Hot-Shot 320 generates 320 amps of thawing power to thaw up to 100 ft. of 1-1/2″ pipe – yet weighs just 30 lbs. The powerful Hot-Shot 400 generates 400 amps of thawing power to thaw frozen lines up to 175 ft. long and 1-1/2″ in diameter. Stuck on a job with only a 15 amp breaker? The Hot-Shot 400 sports a dual level output so you can switch to the 320 amp output – and pull just 14 amps.
They’re easy to use too. Just attach the clamps to the frozen pipe section – and plug the unit into any convenient 115 volt outlet. In a few minutes, the frozen pipe is thawed out. Both machines are compact, feature a heavy gauge steel case, and carry a two year warranty.

A. O. Smith has recently introduced the innovative Product Preservers Powered Anode System. The new anodes, which are designed to provide maintenance-free protection for all water types, are available as an upgrade to replace the sacrificial anodes that come as industry standard equipment on tank-style heaters.
This new technology provides consistent protection, with no additional elements added to the water, and eliminates the need to check and replace sacrificial style anode rods. The Powered Anode System increases protection by adapting to changes in tank conditions. It also uses patented adaptive technology which quickly adjusts to your water type, providing the precise amount of current needed to deliver continuous, routine maintenance-free protection for your water heater tank.
“Consistent cathodic (anode) protection is critical in maintaining the integrity of the porcelain-enameled steel water heater tank,” said Ray Knoeppel, Staff Engineer—Materials. “The Product Preservers™ Powered Anode System was created as a smart system of cathodic protection to extend the life of a water heater over time and eliminate any water quality concerns across every possible water condition.”
The new anode system is designed to be easy to install, complete with a control module fitting any standard 120 volt wall outlet, power supply, and a wiring harness. The system is equipped with a built-in LED fault light and audible alarm to notify users of defects the system and help provide peace of mind. Compatible with indoor water heaters of up to 50 gallons or less than 10 years old and containing a dedicated sacrificial anode, the powered anode system provides continual responsive protection over time.
