Trusted manufacturer enhances commitment to customers with acquisition of leading manufacturer of high efficiency commercial gas and oil-fired water heaters.

Bradford White Corporation, an industry-leading manufacturer of water heaters, boilers and storage tanks, announced today the acquisition of Universal Technologies of Wisconsin, Inc. ,  Bock Water Heaters, Inc., and Tank Technology, Inc. These businesses are collectively known as Bock Water Heaters, the industry leader in oil-fired water heating and a well-known manufacturer of commercial and specialty water heating and storage products based in Wisconsin.

The relationship between the companies extends more than three decades, with Bock serving as both an important supplier and a valued customer to Bradford White. The longstanding business relationship has gradually evolved, making it a natural step for Bock to formally join the Bradford White family of companies.

“We know from first-hand experience Bock’s commitment to manufacturing high-quality products,” said Bruce Carnevale, president and CEO of Bradford White Corporation. “Our companies share many of the same values, and we’re excited to welcome the Bock family into ours. This deal strengthens our ability to support our customers and provide them with an expanded offering of products and solutions.”

Bock was founded in 1929 in Madison, WI, and has since expanded its production capacity with two separate manufacturing facilities in the Badger State. The company is widely recognized for its robust offering of oil-fired water heating products, as well as large, high input commercial condensing gas-fired water heaters. The acquisition will further expand Bradford White’s US-based manufacturing capacity and capabilities.

“Our longstanding relationship with Bradford White is built on a shared commitment to our customers and manufacturing best in class water heating solutions,” said Dale Einerson, CEO, Bock Water Heaters and TTI. “We’re thrilled to become part of Bradford White Corporation and continue to produce high-quality products under a company with strong customer relationships and that is culturally very much aligned with ours.”

This acquisition is the latest in a series of recent strategic acquisitions made by Bradford White that includes Electro Industries, Heat-flo and FloLogic.

“The industry is changing faster than ever and we’re continuing to grow to meet the evolving needs of our customers and bring them new and innovative solutions,” said Carnevale.

Trusted manufacturer will highlight six businesses including newest acquisitions

Bradford White Corporation, an industry-leading manufacturer of water heaters, boilers and storage tanks, will unite its growing portfolio of companies in one booth at AHR Expo 2025, the premier education and networking conference for the HVACR industry. The event will be held Feb. 10-12 in Orlando.

Product and technical experts from Bradford White Water Heaters, Laars Heating Systems, Niles Steel Tank, Electro Industries, Heat-flo and FloLogic will be available at Booth 1343 to meet with attendees and host live presentations. FloLogic representatives will also offer a live demonstration of the company’s smart plumbing leak detection system.

“AHR is one of the biggest events of the year, and we’re thrilled to be bringing them together as one family to showcase the strength and breadth of our offerings,” said Neal Heyman, senior director of marketing for Bradford White. “Each business is an integral part of Bradford White Corporation, and together they allow us to meet the diverse and growing needs of our customers.”

In July 2024, Bradford White Corporation announced two key acquisitions:

  • Heat-flo, a leader in stainless steel indirect water-heating and hydronic storage tanks
  • FloLogic, a manufacturer of premium leak detection and automatic shut off solutions for homes and light commercial applications

Earlier that same year, the company announced the acquisition of Electro Industries, Inc., a manufacturer of electric boilers, air-to-water heat pump technology, electric duct heaters and controls.

“2024 was a year of amazing growth for Bradford White Corporation,” said Bruce Carnevale, president and CEO of Bradford White Corporation. “We already had strong showings in Laars Heating Systems and Niles Steel Tank, but with our new acquisitions, we expanded our portfolio to offer additional product solutions for our customers and reinforced our commitment to providing the best products and services in the industry. We’re proud to be able to feature them together at AHR.”

Trusted manufacturer’s $50,000 donation will help scale training opportunities and grow next generation of plumbing and HVACR technicians

Bradford White Corporation, an industry-leading manufacturer of water heaters, boilers and storage tanks, is partnering with Pennsylvania’s Energy Coordinating Agency (ECA) for the third consecutive year to expand training on heat pump technology to meet future marketplace demands.

Already a supporter of ECA’s heat pump water heater installation and maintenance training program, the $50,000 grant from Bradford White’s Industry Forward® charitable giving program will allow ECA to further scale its high-impact Internship Program for HVACR heat pump trainees. The program, which launched in 2024, has 15 interns going through the program this year, installing nine AeroTherm® Energy Star® certified heat pump water heaters to date, with ten more installations planned by year’s end.

ECA hopes to accommodate 45 students in its internship program in 2025.

“We are thrilled to continue our partnership with ECA because our goals are so closely aligned, and each student that goes through the program is helping to build the next generation of plumbing and HVACR technicians,” said Rebecca Owens, senior communications manager for Bradford White. “We created Industry Forward® to build awareness for the skilled trades and support workforce development and training programs that are educating younger generations about the career opportunities that lie within the skilled trades, manufacturing and distribution. Organizations like ECA are the perfect vessel to help us further that goal.”

Bradford White Corporation began its partnership with ECA in 2022 when it provided a $30,000 grant and a donation of ten 65-gallon AeroTherm® heat pump water heaters to the organization. Two units were installed in ECA’s heat pump training lab while the remaining eight went to qualifying families through the Philadelphia Water Heater Emergency Fund.

“ECA is proud to continue our partnership with Bradford White Corporation,” said Steve Luxton, CEO and executive director for ECA. “Training programs like the one offered at ECA are so important when it comes to developing future tradespeople and creating better, energy-efficient solutions for our communities. Our students are learning a valuable skill for meaningful employment, but they’re also gaining confidence and learning the importance of giving back. We’re setting them up for success, and I am excited to see the program evolve and grow because of corporate partners like Bradford White.”
