Nashville, Tenn. — Dec. 3, 2013 — Xylem Inc., a leading global water technology company focused on addressing the world’s most challenging water issues, announced the CentriPro brand Aquavar intelligent pump controller for submersible and above-ground applications at the 2013 National Ground Water Association (NGWA) show, December 3-6 in Nashville, Tenn. The new Aquavar platform is on display at booth 803.

Using an innovative modular platform, the Aquavar is designed to provide variable frequency pumping control of speed, pressure, flow and level over a wide range of submersible and above-ground applications. The controller offers easy application, is compatible with a variety of building management system protocols, and offers open, indoor and outdoor enclosures.

Aquavar ensures quick commissioning and ease of use through its application specific Start-Up Genie tool. The removable, graphic control panel displays large text on a large backlit screen, making it easy to read. Start-up is also made easy using the My Personal Menu, which lists the 20 most commonly-used parameters, and is customizable by the end user based on their specific pumping system.

“The benefit of this intelligent VFD is that it helps groundwater professionals adapt quickly and efficiently to any application, whether that’s standard day-to-day operation or not,” said Joshua Allen, Americas product manager, drives and controls for Xylem’s Applied Water Systems business unit. “With more than 20 years of variable speed pumping experience, the CentriPro brand once again builds on its history of easy start-up using pump specific language with this more versatile, technologically advanced product.”

The pump controller comes with built-in features to optimize performance and efficiency. The automatic motor adaption and automated energy optimization help to maximize the compatibility between drive and motor and improve system efficiency as loads change. Aquavar also helps protect against the following: cavitation, dead head, blocked suction, circuit shortage, phase loss, overload, undervoltage and overvoltage over an application range of 1.5 to 125 horsepower.

Exton PA. December, 2013 – Omega Flex Inc. the leading manufacturer of CSST Gas Piping systems is introducing another first of its kind CSST innovation.

The new patent pending AutoSnap® straight fittings are the only CSST fittings that do not require any disassembly or reassembly of the fitting to the TracPipe®CounterStrike® CSST.

Just TWIST*SNAP*TIGHTEN and you’re DONE!

This greatly reduces installation difficulty and time as there are no small loose gaskets, O-rings, or retainer rings to contend with in a dark and/or cold work place environment!

AutoSnap is CSA listed, manufactured from brass and features a metal to metal cup seal without any exposed stainless steel pipe behind the new fitting. Reduced torque value and reusability all make for an optimum installer friendly fitting!

AutoSnap will be available the first quarter of 2014 in the following sizes: 3/8”, ½”, ¾” and 1”.

David Richardson, RNC Manager for Weather Master Heating and Air Conditioning, Inc. whose company participated in the AutoSnap testing trials stated the following;

“We have been using your product for over 14 years and value the quality of the product and your advancements that your company has done to improve your products over the years. After reviewing your newest addition to the TracPipe family, I am excited about the convenience it will provide during installation. This product is another example of your dedication to providing quality products and looking for ways to make improvements and finding ways to make installation easier and more user friendly. I think that this new edition to your product line will be another reason that your product is the best in the market and contractors will be excited about the results.  I look forward to the release of the new fitting.”

Rheem Acquires Heat Transfer Products Group (HTPG)

Acquisition enables Rheem to expand its product line and grow the HTPG brand

ATLANTA—Dec. 4, 2013–Atlanta-based Rheem has acquired Heat Transfer Products Group (HTPG) of Scottsboro, Ala., from Monomoy Capital Partners. Rheem is a manufacturer of heating, cooling, water heating and pool/spa heating products for both residential and commercial applications. HTPG is a manufacturer of commercial refrigeration equipment for the foodservice, food retail and other non-consumable markets.

“The acquisition is strategic for Rheem, and HTPG’s employees and customers will benefit from the partnership,” said JR Jones, president and CEO, Rheem. “Heat transfer technology is core to every product that both companies manufacture. Rheem and HTPG have the opportunity to combine an extensive knowledge of heat transfer technology to develop innovative new products.”

One of Rheem’s immediate goals is to reinvigorate the HTPG brand with significant product development. Rheem has made a considerable investment in integrating advanced electronic controls into its products, ultimately driving more efficient and better performing systems. The company will engage its capability of electronic controls into the development of future HTPG products.

In addition, Rheem has an international business presence in 13 countries, and distributes its products to 75 countries. Globally, there’s a demand for HTPG’s products, and—with Rheem’s reach—the company is in a prime position to export these U.S.-made products to new customers in international markets not presently served by HTPG.

“A number of Rheem customers sell heating, cooling, water heating and refrigeration products, and many of them are also HTPG’s customers,” added Jones. “Aligning Rheem and HTPG will be a strong combination due to the common customers served and both companies having excellent reputation for quality and reliability.”

HTPG will be a standalone division of Rheem, much like Rheem’s Raypak and Replacement Parts divisions, and its manufacturing operations will remain in Scottsboro. Rheem uses lean manufacturing techniques at all of its facilities throughout North America. The company will further optimize the HTPG facility in Scottsboro for increased effectiveness.
