Lochinvar announces the launch of its XCalibur™ Condensing High Efficiency Tankless Water Heaters with X3® Scale Prevention Technology. Bringing to market new premium features, including an integrated recirculation pump and patented heat exchanger; enhanced installation flexibility and high efficiency performance, the XCalibur tankless water heater supports busy contractors and homeowners.
Available in 160,000-; 180,000-, and 199,000-BTU/hr units and a Uniform Energy Factor (UEF) of 0.95, the XCalibur line of premium tankless water heaters fits a variety of installation needs. Patented X3 Scale Prevention Technology comes standard on three XCalibur models. Other models are available with X3 Technology as an optional accessory. X3 Scale Prevention Technology inhibits scale build-up and corrosion to extend the life of the unit up to three times longer. The XCalibur tankless water heater requires zero lifetime descaling maintenance, meeting the needs of busy contractors and homeowners. XCalibur units also qualify for state and local rebates and are ENERGY STAR®certified.

Smith marketing technology and training manager. “With continually evolving government regulations and mandates around decarbonization and electrification, these units are becoming increasingly popular with our customers. At A. O. Smith, we strive to ensure that our contractors have the proper resources and training available to them so they’re comfortable addressing current needs in the field.”
A. O. Smith has two state-of-the-art training facilities, located in Ashland City and Johnson City, Tennessee, which held primarily virtual training sessions over the past two years with more than 130,000 combined participants. Both facilities are utilized to train technicians, contractors, and product representatives on a variety of products and topics.
Classes are taught on a two way meeting platform, and there is a 50-person cap placed on all sessions to ensure participants have a high level of engagement with instructors, as well as the opportunity to ask questions. This approach helps maintain A. O. Smith University’s focus on techniques and skills to help grow contractors’ careers.

The NPN-120E is the fourth model introduction to the NPN-E (exterior) series, and just like the other three models in the series (NPN-160E, NPN-180E and NPN-199E), the new size is offered in separate natural gas and liquid propane configurations for outdoor-only operation. NPN-120E provides 4.2 GPM at 45° F temperature rise and stays in-line with the rest of the NPN series at 0.81 UEF.
The NPN series is the first and only non-condensing tankless series to offer NaviTech™ technology that includes a stainless-steel heat exchanger and an advanced stainless-steel burner with the same very low NOx level as the NPE condensing tankless water heaters. NPN-E units have recirculation control built into their circuit boards and are designed with a pin-to-pin matching configuration for easy retrofit installations.
