Milwaukee Tool continues to deliver unprecedented innovation for electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and mechanical contractor professionals with the introduction of the Milwaukee® 10” Die Cast Block and Compact Billet Torpedo Levels. Milwaukee’s Amplified Rare Earth Magnets deliver over 2X the magnetic strength of industry competitors, giving users a more secure hold and confidence in measurements when working overhead or on lifts, scaffolds & ladders. Both of the new Torpedo Levels are designed from the ground-up to provide premium features that increase productivity for MEP installation, service professionals and the building trades.

“Torpedo levels are unbeatable for use in tight spaces and confined access points on the jobsite. Unfortunately, today’s electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and MRO professionals have been limited to options that don’t provide a complete feature set for their needs” said Ryan Schwoegler, Group Product Manager. “The new Milwaukee® torpedo levels are designed to perform in challenging environments and provide a dedicated feature set for measurement during slope, metalworking, pipe fitting, and overhead installation applications.  Our user-focus & commitment to industry leading performance and durability will propel expansion in the layout category and we will continue to develop premium, innovative solutions for the professional trades.”

Key to these new torpedoes is Amplified Rare Earth Magnet Technology that utilizes magnetic circuits to redirect and focus the magnetic field, and provides industry-leading holding power. To further enhance its performance, each torpedo is also engineered for key user applications with a range of features that provide the very best productivity and utility:

Milwaukee® 10” Die Cast Block Torpedo Level

A common frustration with adjustable vials on current competitive torpedo levels is that many don’t lock into place when a user wants to measure an angle. The new Milwaukee® 10” Die Cast Block Torpedo Level is designed with a new-to-world Locking 360° Adjustable Vial that secures the vial in place so users can identify and repeat any angle needed on the jobsite. The locking dial protects the accuracy of the vial whether it’s taken in and out of pockets or pouches.

For the very best readability and visual accuracy, the new Die Cast Block Torpedo Level features SHARPSITE™ Vial Technology. Black bands on the vials create high contrast edges that make the magnified bubble easier to read and deliver precision-grade accuracy. Built to withstand challenging jobsite conditions, SHARPSITE™ vials are engineered with high-impact acrylic which delivers 10X more durability than the standard competitive block vials and protects the accuracy over the life of the level.

Milwaukee® Compact Billet Torpedoes

The new Compact Billet Torpedoes include a 2” Dual Pitch Vial – the largest and most visible pitch vial in the industry – and maximizes the viewing area in slope, trench and pipe installations. The vials can measure slope in 1/8” and ¼” per foot in any direction. All Milwaukee vials utilize reinforced high-impact acrylic which provides enhanced durability and long life accuracy in all measurement positions.

Available in both imperial and metric, the Milwaukee Compact Billet Torpedo features a laser-etched ruled edge for quick measurements on material and a built-in weld clearance allows the user to measure over pipe joints to ensure accurate slope, level, and plumb positions. A slim, tapered design makes it easy to store in storage bags, tool belts or pockets.

The new 10” Die Cast Block and Compact Billet Torpedo Levels are designed to meet the needs on the jobsite and are backed by a Limited Lifetime Warranty. Milwaukee will continue to grow in the layout & measurement space by providing premium, pro-driven solutions that offer industry-leading performance, innovative features and increased durability.

Milwaukee Tool continues to revolutionize the tool industry with the introduction of the new M18 FUEL™ SURGE™ ¼” Hex Hydraulic Driver. The SURGE™ uses a technology called FLUID-DRIVE™ Hydraulic Powertrain* which allows it to operate 50% quieter, with 3X less vibration, and achieve longer sustained torque compared to standard impact drivers. “Due to their versatility, compact size and high speed, impact drivers are easily one of the most prevalent tools on the jobsite, and we continue to drive innovation in this category. From the revolutionary performance delivered through M18 FUEL™ in 2012, to the major productivity enhancements delivered through ONE-KEY™ in early 2016, Milwaukee has always been on the forefront of fastening technology. We are excited to once again bring this category to the next level with SURGE™,” said Cole Conrad, Group Product Manager for Milwaukee Tool.

“With the combination of M18 FUEL™ technologies and FLUID-DRIVE™ Hydraulic Powertrain, SURGE™ provides a better user experience through quieter operation and less vibration, while driving small to medium diameter fasteners equal to or faster than a standard impact driver.”

The new SURGE™ operates 50% quieter than standard impacts, which not only makes it an excellent option for quieter work environments such as maintenance in an occupied building, it also provides inherent hearing benefits. The new tool can be used for an 8 hour day in most common applications while remaining below the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) requirement for hearing protection. With up to 3X less vibration, the smoother performance of SURGE™ provides more control and creates less fatigue and strain on the user. T

he exclusive FLUID-DRIVE™ Hydraulic Powertrain design essentially replaces the traditional hammer and anvil mechanism found in standard impacts with a hydraulic mechanism that generates the power necessary to create torque. Because there’s no metal-on-metal contact, the net result is smoother performance, with a decrease in noise and vibration, as well as longer sustained torque. With faster driving speeds than standard impacts in certain applications, and 450 in/lbs of sustained torque, the new tool delivers unmatched performance.

“In our testing, users were blown away when we told them this tool had 450 in/lbs of torque because it is common for ¼” impact drivers to have up to 1800 in/lbs,” said Cole Conrad. “The difference is peak torque vs sustained torque. In a standard impact, the tool reaches peak torque very quickly but only holds it for a brief period of time. With the longer sustained torque delivered in SURGE™, peak torque is reached faster and maintained for a longer period of time, allowing it to do the same amount of work at a lower torque rating (see graph below). The result is a superior fastening solution designed specifically for small to medium diameter fasters, which make up the vast majority of applications performed by MEP trades.”

As with all M18 FUEL™ products**, the new tools feature three Milwaukee®-exclusive innovations — the POWERSTATE™ Brushless Motor, REDLITHIUM™ XC5.0 Battery Pack and REDLINK PLUS™ Intelligence Hardware and Software— to deliver unmatched performance, durability and run-time.

M18 FUEL™
SURGE™ Hydraulic Driver

*FLUID-DRIVE™ Hydraulic Powertrain- When paired with the exclusive technologies in M18 FUEL™, the SURGE™ is in a class of its own. The “oil-impulse” options available today ask the user to choose between some pretty significant trade-offs. Some options focus on speed and torque at the expense of size and weight, while others focus on ergonomics at the expense of performance. With the new M18 FUEL™ SURGE™ ¼” Hex Hydraulic Driver users will experience the best of both worlds- all the holistic benefits of an oil impulse mechanism without the extreme trade-offs.

**M18 FUEL™ is engineered for the most demanding tradesmen in the world. Delivering unrivaled performance, all M18 FUEL™ products feature three Milwaukee®-exclusive innovations—The POWERSTATE™ Brushless Motor, REDLITHIUM™ Battery Pack and REDLINK PLUS™ Intelligence Hardware and Software—that deliver unmatched power, run-time and durability on the jobsite. Simply put, M18 FUEL™ tools are the most powerful 18V cordless tools in their class.

Bosch-exclusive KickBack Control meets high performance motor and rugged design

When the job calls for more power and maximum reliability, professional users can’t miss with Bosch’s latest 18V drill/driver and hammer drill/driver offerings. Both the Bosch DDH183 18V EC Brushless Brute Tough™ ½ In. Drill/Driver and HDH183 18V EC Brushless Brute Tough™ ½ In. Hammer Drill/Driver pack more features than their predecessors, including injury-mitigating KickBack Control and an improved ergomonic design.

With both the DDH183 drill/driver and HDH183 hammer drill/driver delivering 663 In.-Lbs. of torque at two speeds (0-2100 rpm high speed; 0-480 rpm for high torque), professionals can pack serious power in a lightweight, cordless package.

That’s why both Brute Tough models feature Bosch-exclusive KickBack Control, an integrated acceleration sensor that virtually stops the drill’s rotation during bit bind-up situations. This feature helps reduce the risk of user injury, and a new LED light shows when KickBack Control is activated or the tools overload protection is activated. In addition, the new drivers offer 25+1 precision clutch settings, which provide driving accuracy for reduced fastener and workpiece damage.

“Professionals today expect the power and longevity of a corded tool in a cordless package,” said Mats Stellnert, group product manager, Robert Bosch Tool Corporation. “The Bosch DDH183 drill/driver and HDH183 hammer drill/driver deliver the power our users demand while including advanced features like KickBack Control and the precision clutch. It’s these incremental benefits to the user that set Bosch tools apart.”

Advanced user benefits continue with DDH183 and HDH183 power, which is driven by an efficient EC brushless motor that provides 2X longer tool life than a standard motor, longer runtimes and virtually no maintenance. The Brute Tough design also ensures a shorter head length and a lighter tool with no reduction in power. That’s combined with an upgraded all-metal chuck that delivers durability and strong bit retention. The Bosch-exclusive Durashield™ housing adds to overall tool durability for the toughest applications and jobsites. In addition, improved handle geometry offers a comfortable grip throughout the workday.

The Bosch Flexible Power System is one of the most versatile Lithium-ion battery platforms available.
