Sloan’s new ST-2459 top spud wall hung water closet is designed to maximize flushing performance in lower flushing volume applications. The universal flushing volume of the ST-2459 can accommodate any high efficiency flush volume including the newest maximum efficiency of just 1.1 gpf.
“The ability of a commercial water closet to provide peak performance lies in how well the flushometer and water closet work together as a system especially in extremely low flush volume applications that leave very little margin for error,” says Mark Lawinger, Product Line Manager – Fixtures for Sloan. “The ST-2459 hydraulics are optimized to match Sloan’s top-performing family of flushometers. Each model scores 1,000 g MaP on nearly every one of Sloan’s flushometers to meet these low flow challenges.”
This new model has an all-new look that is desired by leading architects today. It also features an increased backplate strength and higher static load capability that engineers and customers are looking for. It also features a larger water spot to minimize streaking and stains.
This model is GREEN certified by IAPMO and meets ASME 112.19.2-2013/CSA B45.1-13 standards, is Buy American Act (BAA) compliant when purchased as a combination package, meets the American with Disabilities Act Guidelines (ADA) and is compatible and Texas Accessibility Standards (TAS) compatible for all ages.

A big glass vase and a $5,000 check were given to Harley Perry of Bonita, CA on Oct. 2, upon receiving the national John Eberhardt Plumbing Contractor of Year Award from the Plumbing-Heating-Cooling Contractors Association (PHCC) and Delta Faucet Company. Perry owns and operates Perry Plumbing Heating & Air, which he started in 1977. The family-run business provides a full range of plumbing, heating and air services to both residential and commercial clients throughout San Diego County while offering eco-friendly solutions for repairing systems without negatively impacting the environment.
Perry is also president of the PHCC Academy of San Diego, a federally certified school launched in 2009 that offers two and four-year programs for apprentices and journeymen. He is also a longtime active member, board member and former president of PHCC’s San Diego chapter.
The award, named after Delta Faucet’s late senior vice president of sales and marketing, is given annually to one recipient from a national pool of nominees. Perry received the honors on Oct. 2 during a well-attended awards ceremony held during this year’s weeklong conference of the national PHCC at the Diplomat Resort and Spa in Hollywood, Florida. “I was completely surprised to have received this top honor in the nation,” says Perry. “The award hasn’t found a permanent spot yet, but it will be put somewhere in our office.” Danielle Dorsey, executive director of PHCC San Diego says the award is well-deserved. “Harley is very devoted to the success of the plumbing industry.
Knowing that the present, older generation of plumbing technicians is on the verge of retirement, his goal is to support multi-faceted students who can articulate core academic knowledge with the latest technical know-how to become qualified plumbers.”

American Standard Brands is proud to announce its recognition as a 2015 Supplier Partner of the Year by The Home Depot for the kitchen and bath division. In addition, the American Standard Optum VorMax toilet was a runner-up for the 2015 Innovation Award for its pioneering new flushing system.
The Partner of the Year designation was granted to acknowledge the collaborative relationship between American Standard and The Home Depot, including achievements through the promotion of new Champion and Cadet toilet models. The revolutionary Optum VorMax toilet, which was launched jointly with The Home Depot, was also recognized through this award.
“It is a sincere honor to be named a Partner of the Year by an influential retailer like The Home Depot,” said Steven Delarge, chief executive officer and president of LIXIL Water Technology Americas. “We deeply value this partnership with such an expert merchant, allowing us to offer high performing plumbing products to homeowners, do-it-yourselfers and contractors across the United States.”
The American Standard Optum VorMax toilet was also recognized as a runner-up for the retailer’s 2015 Innovation Award – the only product in the kitchen and bath category to receive this designation. Each year, The Home Depot Innovation Award honors inventive new products that deliver unique, measurable benefits to users, as well as recognize the work of pioneering manufacturers who provide unmatched performance and service. The Optum VorMax toilet was acknowledged for its ground-breaking flushing technology that delivers one powerful jet of water to scrub the entire bowl clean; in fact, it has been independently verified to clean the bowl two times better than conventional toilets*.
Accepting both awards on behalf of American Standard Brands were Chief Operating Officer Michael Marchi, Vice President, Retail Sales Chris Barg and Sales Director Ken Keane.
