To further meet the growing demand for sustainable building systems, Uponor North America (Uponor) is the first in the industry to offer a PEX purple pipe in sizes up to 2″ for commercial and residential reclaimed water applications. In addition to its existing ½”, ¾” and 1″ sizes, Uponor AquaPEX® Reclaimed Water pipe is now available in 1¼”, 1½” and 2″ sizes as well.

“Uponor has a strong sustainability culture and looks to provide products that align with the company’s philosophy of respecting the vital balance between people, planet and profit,” says Jayson Drake, director of Plumbing at Uponor. “Extending our current offering of Uponor AquaPEX Reclaimed Water pipe supports our mission of providing products that help our business partners build sustainable structures around the world.”

The new offering comes in response to a growing need for water reuse systems in drought-stricken areas around the country. Offering a reclaimed water pipe in larger sizes gives professionals the opportunity to design and install even more reclaimed water applications to help conserve fresh-water resources.

Uponor’s extended offering, which is available in 300-ft. coils for ½”, ¾” and 1″ sizes and 10-ft. and 20-ft. straight lengths for 1″, 1¼”, 1½” and 2″ sizes, provides all the benefits of Uponor AquaPEX that plumbing engineers and contractors have come to rely on — flexibility, durability, corrosion resistance, a 20-year proven history in plumbing, a 25-year limited warranty, and one simple ASTM F1960 ProPEX® expansion connection system that does not require any torches, glues, solvents or gauges.

“The best part about Uponor AquaPEX Reclaimed Water pipe is the fact that plumbing professionals don’t have to switch products when installing potable plumbing and reclaimed water systems,” says Drake. “They can seamlessly move from Uponor AquaPEX for the potable system to Uponor AquaPEX Reclaimed Water for the reclaimed water system without having to switch piping materials, tools or fittings.”

Company’s Technologically-Advanced Personal Cleansing Systems are Evidence of its People-First Innovation Design Philosophy

TOTO, the largest plumbing manufacturer in the world with $5.1 billion dollars in annual sales, announced today that it has achieved a major global milestone with its popular Washlet line of personal cleansing systems. To date, the company has sold more than 40 million Washlets worldwide since their 1980 launch in Japan. During the past 35 years, TOTO has expanded its Washlet sales around the globe, and today these revolutionary personal cleansing systems are available on all seven continents, in countries as diverse as the U.S., Germany, France, Korea, the Philippines, Thailand, the United Arab Emirates, Indonesia, Taiwan, India, Brazil, Mexico, China, Singapore, Korea, and the United Kingdom – to name but a few. Washlets Washlets use pure, clean water – and myriad technological innovations – to make their users cleaner, happier, more refreshed than they have ever felt after a bathroom break by reinventing the humble toilet seat as a warm water personal cleansing system. When its cleansing cycle is activated, a streamlined wand with Wonderwave technology extends from the beneath the seat to provide a soothing warm flow of aerated water for complete cleansing. Because the water is drawn directly from the home’s fresh water supply, the Washlet delivers warm water that is always clean and pure. Once the cleansing cycle is completed, the user may engage the drying cycle, which uses warm air to gently dry the area, protecting environment by reducing the need for toilet tissue. Newest Technological Innovation Committed to People-First Innovation, TOTO advances are designed that meet people’s real world needs. To this end, the company introduced the first use of electrolyzed water designed to make the toilet bowl easier to clean. To create eWater+, TOTO engineers use only the home’s incoming water supply and the company’s patented technological process. eWater+ is applied to the bowl after every flush and once every eight hours during non-use. It returns to its natural state within two hours. A pre-misting of plain water further enhances bowl cleanliness by sealing the surface against the adherence of matter approximately 80% better than dry porcelain. eWater+ is good for the planet, too. It reduces the need for toxic chemicals used to clean the toilet, which helps to protect the environment as it saves consumers money on cleaning supplies and time cleaning the toilet. TOTO’s eWater+ technology is available on the Washlet S350e and S300e. Latest Design Innovation: Connect+ System TOTO’s innovative new Connect+ System neatly conceals the Washlet’s power cord and water supply hose for a clean installation. To achieve this, TOTO pre-drilled holes in Connect+ toilets behind the bowl (near the seat bolt holes), which enables specially-designed Washlets’ power cord and water supply hose to pass easily through, hiding them from view. Concealing the Connect+ Washlets’ power cord and water supply hose offers homeowners an elegant seamless look that enhances any bath décor. Comprised of specially designed Washlets and water-efficient Tornado Flush toilets, TOTO’s innovative new Connect+ System offers homeowners superior design aesthetics, water savings, technology, cleanliness and over 40 different combination possibilities. Berko®, a leading choice among contractors for heating and ventilation systems, offers a redesigned fan-forced wall heater that provides supplemental heat for numerous residential and commercial applications.

The new COS-E™ series of wall heaters features a compact universal design, dual wattage and voltage, compliance with safety standards and easy installation. Berko products are manufactured and marketed by Marley Engineered Products, a leading electric heat manufacturing company based in Bennettsville, S.C.

A major innovation of the COS-E™ heaters is its patented Clip-n-Fit® feature, which allows the installer to change the wattage of the heater to a lower output to accommodate any application or space. Each heater is factory wired for its maximum wattage and, with a clip of a wire, can be reduced to half the wattage. COS-E heaters are available in 208/240 volts, 120 volts and outputs ranging from 2,000 to 375 watts.

“The Clip-n-Fit feature is exclusive to Marley Engineered Products and, when paired with the COS-E heater, provides greater general flexibility for installers, end users and distributors alike,” said Dennis Krob, product manager for Marley Engineered Products. “This feature allows the user to reduce the heater’s wattage in an effort to accommodate a wide range of applications. Suppliers who stock the COS-E heater have been able to lower their inventory costs and increase inventory turns by minimizing SKUs.”

Additional key features include:

  • Impeller for silent heat
  • Access to elements without disturbing the wiring/controls
  • Small footprint with clean, contemporary aesthetic
  • Adapter plate conversion – CRA

“Understanding the needs of our channel partners and end users resulted in the development of the COS-E Series,” said Krob. “With the new design and value added features, these heaters can match the look and feel of existing spaces, providing quiet, supplemental heat to meet the expectations of our customers.”

With a sleek and modern redesign, COS-E heaters provide efficient, quiet operations as a result of using an impeller, which does not generate noise like fan blade vibrations. These heaters are easily integrated into residential spaces such as basements, bathrooms, bedrooms and hallways or commercial spaces such as offices, conference rooms, restrooms, stock rooms and reception areas. The COS-E’s user-friendly design offers fast and easy installation for the contractor while the performance and silent operation are appreciated by all end users.

The COS-E Series is ETL approved for use in the U.S. or Canada. To learn more about the COS-E Series of wall heaters visit http://marleymep.com or locate the nearest Marley Engineered Products sales rep at http://www.marleymep.com/en/berko/where-to-buy/.
